Quilled Classic White Cake

Hi All,

A big big thanks to Indian Quilling Challenge Group for bringing my work into top 3 last month. What I love about these challenges is that they lubricate our creativity and thought process. When sitting idle, no thoughts come to your mind what to make next. But these challenges bring a base to our creative thought process without any doubt.

This month I bring a handmade classic white birthday/wedding cake. The cake has multiple shades of white with a tinge of silver. It was pretty tough to make the paper cake than to decorate it. The cake is made of Styrofoam discs staked upon each other and wrapped with White glittered foam sheet. The Icing of the cake is decorated with 3mm metallic white and silver strips, 3mm super white strips, pearls and white & silver glittered washi tapes. This time its all floral decorations. As in who doesn’t love flower decors!!

The cake has undergone a lot of icing experiments. Thanks to foam sheets from which the pasted quilled elements were easy to pull off! But yeah all the hard work is worth it and you have the end result in front of you. I am pretty happy with the result. Are you? Lemme know by comments below πŸ˜€
