Quilled Classic White Cake

Hi All,

A big big thanks to Indian Quilling Challenge Group for bringing my work into top 3 last month. What I love about these challenges is that they lubricate our creativity and thought process. When sitting idle, no thoughts come to your mind what to make next. But these challenges bring a base to our creative thought process without any doubt.

This month I bring a handmade classic white birthday/wedding cake. The cake has multiple shades of white with a tinge of silver. It was pretty tough to make the paper cake than to decorate it. The cake is made of Styrofoam discs staked upon each other and wrapped with White glittered foam sheet. The Icing of the cake is decorated with 3mm metallic white and silver strips, 3mm super white strips, pearls and white & silver glittered washi tapes. This time its all floral decorations. As in who doesn’t love flower decors!!

The cake has undergone a lot of icing experiments. Thanks to foam sheets from which the pasted quilled elements were easy to pull off! But yeah all the hard work is worth it and you have the end result in front of you. I am pretty happy with the result. Are you? Lemme know by comments below 😀

Love with Music

Hi All,

How about a quilled guitar to showcase music lovers!

Where there’s music there’s no evil!

A guitar design with wings, symbolizes the sense of freedom found in music. Wings are also associated with angels and can be used as a symbol of a love with music.

Circular Quilled Frame

Hi All,

This month I bring a handmade circular frame. This time I have merged quilling technique with paper-cut technique.

Instead of framing the paper-cut design in a box frame, I decided to make my own quilled circular frame.

I am definitely happy with the results.

Hi! Five… It’s a happy life !!

Hi All,

Everyday we face some new challenges and overcome them. So its time to pat yourself and give a Hi Five! 🙂

This time I have designed a 16 cm x 22 cm Rock & Roll Note Card. The sentiment ‘Hi’ rolls over the horizontal bar. The sentiment ‘five’ is represented by numeral 5 and is designed using the technique Quillography. For this technique I have made my own colorful quilling strips of 5mm out of 160gsm CS.

and the Story Begins..

Hi All,

This card is with the reference to the challenge CASology-week148:Story.

Since I am 5 months old mother, I could not find a better story than this. Every new born’s story starts from the mother’s womb.

I made my own stencil for the hair strokes and inked with Distress ink. I used a craft knife to cut out the font sentiment and mother outline.

I am really happy with the result & hope u too like it.
